POCT Poctell Electrolyte Analyzer
The POCT Poctell is a handheld electrolyte analyzer measuring Na+, K+, Cl-, iCa2+, pH, Hct with calculated TCO2 and AG using 95 µL whole blood samples at up to 60 tests/hour. Optimized for ERs, ICUs, and field use, it features direct ISE potentiometry, carbon electrode sensors, 3.5-inch touchscreen, 5,000-result storage, closed cartridge system, and barcode scanning for rapid, accurate electrolyte assessment.
Description
Electrolyte Parameters: Core Ion and Acid-Base Profiling The POCT Poctell quantifies essential electrolytes—sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), chloride (Cl-), ionized calcium (iCa2+), and pH—plus hematocrit (Hct) for comprehensive evaluation of fluid status, neuromuscular function, and cardiac rhythm stability. With calculated total CO2 (TCO2) and anion gap (AG), it supports immediate detection of imbalances like hypokalemia, metabolic acidosis, or hypernatremia, guiding urgent interventions in emergencies, perioperative care, or dialysis monitoring.
Parameters Measured: Directly measures 6 primary parameters: Na+ (50–200 mmol/L), K+ (0.3–10 mmol/L), Cl- (50–200 mmol/L), iCa2+ (0.2–3.0 mmol/L), pH (6.5–8.0), Hct (15–75%), with calculated TCO2 (5–50 mmol/L) and AG (3–25 mmol/L). Employs direct ISE potentiometry for whole blood accuracy without dilution bias, with CV <2% and temperature compensation (37°C); includes alarms for critical values (e.g., K+ >6.0 mmol/L) to flag arrhythmias or seizures.
Sample Requirements: Requires 95 µL of whole blood (arterial, venous, or capillary) via syringe or tube, supporting fingertip pricks for neonates or adults. Barcode compatibility ensures patient traceability, with anti-clot probe and hemolysis index to validate samples, enabling true POC without centrifugation.
Throughput: Processes up to 60 samples per hour in handheld mode, ideal for acute settings handling 200–400 tests daily. Results in <45 seconds per sample with one-button operation, facilitating serial monitoring in ventilated patients or post-op recovery without lab delays.
Technology: Utilizes direct ISE with polymer membrane electrodes (Na+/K+/Cl-/iCa2+) and carbon-based pH/Hct sensors for undiluted measurements, ensuring no heparin dilution errors. Closed cartridges integrate calibration and waste for zero contamination, while signal amplification and self-diagnostics meet CLSI POCT standards for reliable field performance.
User Interface and Storage: Features a 3.5-inch color touchscreen with simple icons, real-time displays, and multilingual support (up to 5 languages, including English and Chinese). Stores 5,000 results with parameters, trends, and patient notes in a secure database; built-in mini thermal printer for reports, with USB/Bluetooth for LIS connectivity and PDF exports to mobile devices.
Reagent System: All-in-one closed cartridges (100 tests/pack) with pre-calibrated sensors, stable at 2–30°C for 12 months. Auto-RFID recognition handles lot/expiry, with low waste and no manual prep; cost per test < $1, supporting 24-hour calibration stability for extended shifts.
Dimensions and Portability: Handheld design at 150 × 80 × 30 mm (L × W × H) weighs 0.3 kg, pocket-sized for bedside or transport. Rechargeable battery (6+ hours) with AC adapter, operates silently (<40 dB) in 0–40°C ambient with 20–90% humidity, perfect for ambulances or remote clinics.
